Martin Hunter
Martin leads the executive of the TfL Pension Fund, having joined in March 2026. He has overall responsibility for managing the Fund on behalf of the Trustees and supporting the Trustees to drive their strategy and policies, including overall responsibility for managing the Trustees’ relationships with their advisers.
Martin has more than 20 years of experience in the pension industry. He was previously Head of Integrated Funding at Railpen, where he led a team of actuaries and covenant advisers supporting the Trustee of the railways pension schemes with all aspects of integrated funding, including leading critical strategic projects on behalf of the Trustee and Railpen with stakeholders across the rail and pension industries. This included ensuring that emerging pension regulations were supportive of open DB schemes, recognising their critical importance to members and key sectors of the UK economy, as part of which Martin provided written and oral evidence to the UK Parliament’s Work and Pensions Committee.
Prior to joining Railpen, Martin spent 16 years at Punter Southall (now XPS Pensions Group) where he was a Partner and corporate pensions adviser.
Outside pensions, Martin enjoys spending time with his family, running his local parkrun, gardening and following the Scotland football team.
